. Our probationers brightened this holiday season with donated toys for each and every kid in pre-K and Headstart programs at Grand Saline ISD. Ten years ago our Director Ken Pruitt started a toy drive and it seems to get better every year. This year we received over 3400 dollars worth of toys from our probationers. We received such a overwhelming response to the toy drive that each child was able to take home two gifts. After it was all said and we even had enough left over to donate to other needy families in the community and some even went to the toy drive sponsored by the Canton Herold. In addition to all the toys the employees at our department donated money to purchase candy for the kids and the Brookshires in Grand Saline donated enough apples and oranges for all the kids. I can't forget to mention the can food drive. This year the probationers donated three pick up beds full of canned foods.

Thanks to the 294th District Judge Teresa Drum and Deputy Director of VZCSCD Jan Brooks for being on hand to pass out all the gifts to the kids. Judging by the faces I saw, the toy drive was a success.
